The City of Penticton is looking to fill the position of Engineering Technologist II on our Engineering and Design team. The Engineering and Design team is responsible for the planning, design and construction of the road, pedestrian and cycling network, water distribution system, waste water collection system and the drainage system.Reporting to the Design Supervisor, this Engineering Technologist II will be responsible for quality control inspection and overseeing construction work performed by private contractors and public works crews to ensure compliance with necessary standards and specifications. The work will include maintaining accurate records, preparing progress reports, initiating contract change work orders, and liaising with a variety of internal and external contacts. In addition, this Engineering Technologist II will complete survey work and assist with design work, quantity take off and construction estimate preparation. The Engineering Technologist II exercises moderate independence of judgment and action in the performance of inspection, survey and related work within established guidelines.Key Duties and Responsibilities
