In return for hard work and dedication, our goal is to provide a safe, productive, and enjoyable workplace for every employee.Job Overview: We have a requirement for a Plant Accountant to assist with daily, month-end and year-end responsibilities needed in the plant. This role will provide support to Plant Controller. The position will be based at the Penticton office (Monday to Friday).Responsibilities:

• Assists the Controller in regular daily, weekly and month end activities.
• Assists the Controller in balance sheet reconciliations including bank reconciliations and analysis of key accounts.
• Prepares journal entries and otherwise assists Controller in timely and accurate preparation of the monthly Financial Statements in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.
• Assist the Controller to trouble shoot any problems that develop in the accounting department, systems or procedures.
• Accounts payable and payroll support when need be.
• Learn all the Champion policies relating to all accepted internal accounting controls.
• Learn all the software used by Champion relating to the accounting and financial functions.
• Quarterly Work Safe BC/PST returns.

Education and Experience: Diploma in accounting, finance or relevant field, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.ANDOne to two years of experience as an accountant or similar role.Manufacturing experience is a plus.Requirements:

• Knowledge of accounting and financial processes (budgeting, financial closure, reporting etc.)
• Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word) and accounting software
• Able to effectively communicate and work closely with diverse groups.
• Strong work ethic and sense of responsibility and confidentiality
• An organized self-starter who is attentive to detail and able to work independently
• Flexible work schedule to meet deadlines
• Location: In Office
