Please Note: If you are a current Algonquin College employee, apply to this job via the Workday application.Department:Employment Services (Perth Campus) (Lisa Benoit)Position Type:Part-Time SupportSalary Range:$29.58-$34.29-HourlySc heduled Weekly Hours:24Anticipated Start Date:July 05, 2021Length of Contract:NAPosting InformationEmployees who are part-time internal candidates, as defined by the Part-Time Support Collective Agreement, will be given first consideration.Posting Closing Date:June 14, 2021Please note: jobs are posted until 12:01 am on the job closing date.Reporting to the Manager, the incumbent is responsible for assisting unemployed persons prepare to enter or re-enter the labour market by delivering service delivery responses that meet the unique needs of the individual.The incumbent is responsible for assisting unemployed persons with gathering labour market and career information, assisting with building and revising resumes and cover letters, delivering employment related workshops, tracking statistical data on resource centre usage, meeting monthly intake and exit targets, and completing client files related to job search activities, as well as paperwork required for client support and centre operations.The incumbent provides intake support and develops return-to-work strategies for clients who have the skills necessary to gain employment but need assistance with their job search. The incumbent maintains effective working relationships with Employment Services Training Consultants and with community service agencies and employers to facilitate the transition to employment.Required Qualifications:Minimum two(2) year diploma, in Human Services or similar field of study;The incumbent will possess three (3) years of previous relevant experience working within the Career/Employment Counselling field where responsibilities included working with clients to develop resumes and action plans;The incumbent will possess excellent organizational skills and planning abilities and attention to detail;The incumbent must have demonstrated customer service and organizational skills to manage a busy workload, handle multiple tasks, establish priorities and work under pressure to meet conflicting demands;The incumbent will be an effective communicator who demonstrates exceptional interpersonal and problem-solving skills required to provide counselling support to a diverse group of clients;Previous experience will reflect the incumbent’s analytical abilities and pro-active approach to problem-solving and case file management. Facilitation skills for workshop delivery are essential;The incumbent will have sound knowledge of workplace legislation and health and safety laws;Experience working with a variety of software packages i.e. Word processing, email, and internet and database entry. Demonstrated knowledge in labour market trends, employment conditions and community agencies.
