Job Description

Who We AreEaster Seals is a registered charitable organization that helps children and youth with physical disabilities from all backgrounds. We are an industry leader in providing fully accessible summer camp programs at our two camps, Camp Woodeden in London and Camp Merrywood in Perth. Our Cleaning Crew plays a vital role in ensuring these camp sites remain safe and welcoming for campers and guests alike.Easter Seals Camp Merrywood is looking for a hard working, positive and reliable individual to join our team for the summer as cleaning staff. This position is responsible for a variety of cleaning, disinfecting and laundry duties as outlined by the Site Manager.Contract details: 35 hours per week. Monday to Friday. Must be able to start immediately.The general duties include:

  • General cleaning activities include but are not limited to:
  • Disinfecting surface areas in cabins, offices, and common spaces
  • Replacing paper products throughout site
  • Mopping, polishing, and vacuuming floors
  • Recycling and waste disposal
  • Laundry and housekeeping
  • Responsible for the safe handling, usage, and disposal of household cleaning products (WHMIS training will be provided).
  • Completes the turnover process between guests, ensuring cabins and common areas have been cleaned and stocked prior to next arrival.
  • Tracks activities throughout the day, signing off on completed work.
  • Reports instances of low inventory or required materials to Site Manager.
  • Additional duties and responsibilities may be assigned as needed.
**Qualifications and experiences:
  • Previous experience in cleaning would be an asset
  • Must exhibit a high degree of initiative and self direction
  • Hard working, dependable and responsible
  • Maintain a cheerful, positive, and helpful attitude at all time
  • Comfortable performing the physical demands of the jo
  • Must be comfortable working with a variety of cleaning products and solutions
  • Must work well in a team environment
Must have a source of transportation. Camp Merrywood is located near the Beveridge locks on Port Elmsley Road.Must have a clear Criminal Record Check and proof of vaccination against Covid-19Job Types: Fixed term contract, SeasonalContract length: 15 weeksSalary: $16.00 per hourSchedule:
