This would be facilitated upon receiving an interview and would be done by contacting Human Resources at askuchr@ucdsb.on.caHours of Work: 9:00 - 4:15Various Schools in FOS: Perth and Smiths FallsJob Summary:Under the supervision of the Chief Psychologist, the clinical direction of the Speech-Language Pathologist, and in consultation with the School Principal and the Learning Resource Coach/Learning Resource Teacher/Classroom Teacher, the Speech-Language Assistant is responsible for the delivery of individualized language and articulation programs to students with speech and language difficulties. This position involves working collaboratively with the Speech-Language Pathologist, LRC/LRT and Classroom Teachers and other support staff in an itinerant model. This position requires working with confidential information student program plans and intervention strategies and monitoring and documenting student progression and goal achievement.Education & Experience:Completion of a two year Community College Program in the social and/or human sciences plus completion of a one year Post-diploma Certificate in Communications Disorder Assistant. Alternatively, completion of an equivalent two or three year Community College Program that incorporates several language development courses and training within the defined curriculum may be considered.A minimum of three years of related work experience with children/youth in language development, is required. The work experience must have been under the direction of a Speech-Language Pathologist or a Teacher of the Deaf. Documented job training from a Speech-Language Professional or training recognized by the Board such as Hanen or PECS may be considered. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. A valid driver=s licence and access to a vehicle is required.Skills Required:
