Full Job DescriptionHarris Industries is SecurTeks largest Authorized Dealer throughout Central Ontario in the area of security, monitoring, fire safety and fire suppression, cameras, access control, life safety, audio, video, low-voltage lighting, structured wiring, lock, key and safe products and services.The Alarm Tech will work from Peterborough and can be required to travel to Eastern and Central Ontario in Company Vehicles.Position Summary: The Alarm Technician will be responsible for the installation and pre-wiring of structured cabling, audio video cabling and related equipment for security alarms card access systems, fire alarm devices, CCTV and IP camera systems, structured cabling termination and audio components installations.The Alarm Technician will be responsible for providing instructions to clients/users in operational procedures and maintenance of equipment.At times and as directed, meet with builders, contractors, trades people and owners to discuss progress or challenges.The Alarm Technician is required to record and submit daily activities with regards to time and inventory management.Position Requirements: · Perform installation, rough ins, troubleshooting, commissioning, and maintenance activities related to alarm detection systems, door/access control systems, public address/intercom systems, CCTV systems and control and display systems· Maintenance service for alarm systems· Installation of Televisions and speakers· Attend emergency calls as required (on-call rotation)· Inspect the installation of equipment to meet customer specifications· Provide customer with informative summary of work to be done or recommendations for alarm system following inspection· Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, schematics and operational/product manuals· Provide consistently high levels of customer serviceQualifications: · High School Diploma or equivalent. CANASA – ATC / CFAA· 1 to 3 years related experience is an asset.· Proficient in Microsoft Office· Clean Criminal Record Check and valid drivers license with clean drivers abstract· Excellent communication skillsAccommodations will be provided in accordance with AODA. (Valid Canasa Alarm Tech Certification +$2.00/ Hour, Working at Heights valid +$0.50/ Hour, Valid CFAA Certifications in Good Standings +$5.00/ Hour)Overtime Work may be required but not to exceed 48 Hours Per Week. Overtime is calculated at over 8 Hours worked daily.On Call Rotation for Techs.Overnight and Weekend work is sometimes required from some customers- Outside of Regular work hours pay is 2.5x Regular pay unless continuation of Regular hours (Example Working 9-5 On Site, Finishing job at 6pm, you would be entitled to 1 hours at 1.5x the pay, not the 2.5x rate)Job Type: Full-timeSalary: $22.00-$32.00 per hourAdditional pay:
