See our website for more information regarding our full range of programs: http://flemingcollege.ca/school/health-and-wellness.Reporting to the Academic Chair, School of Health & Wellness, Fleming College, this exciting full-time Faculty opportunity is within our Trent University / Fleming College School of Nursing in the Collaborative Bachelor of Science, Nursing Program (BScN) - a unique joint program offered in partnership with Fleming College and Trent University. As a full-time professor in The School of Health & Wellness, BScN Program, you will play a key role in creating a learning environment and experience that is inclusive of all students by way of using a variety of teaching methodologies, providing timely feedback, and through authentic and differentiated assessments. Faculty work and teach both individually and in teams to design, develop, and deliver curriculum to students using lectures, seminars, skills labs, and clinical placements.The successful incumbent will be hired as full-time Faculty member with our School of Health & Wellness and appointed to the Trent / Fleming School of Nursing Collaborative Bachelor of Science in Nursing Program. In the fourth year of appointment to the Trent / Fleming School of Nursing, faculty will apply for renewal of their appointment. This will only be done once by each faculty member. Check out Life@Fleming.An appointment to the Trent/Fleming School of Nursing BScN program requires a Master’s Degree with a Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing. Where the qualifications exceed a Master’s Degree, preference will be given in the following order:applicants possessing an earned doctoral degree in nursing;applicants with a doctoral degree in another discipline with nursing relevant research with a graduate degree in nursing, completed or in processapplicants with a doctoral degree in nursing in process (demonstrating continuous study and nearing completion);applicants with a graduate degree in nursing completed or a graduate degree in a related discipline completed with a baccalaureate degree in nursing, completed.In addition to the above educational qualifications, you possess current expertise in Indigenous health and acute care along with demonstrated experience in clinical nursing, teaching, and activities of scholarly work. Candidates must demonstrate a strong understanding of Indigenous history, cultures, traditions and spirituality including an understanding of the historical and current relationship between Indigenous peoples and Canada in addition to an understanding and appreciation of the importance of culturally appropriate protocols for Indigenous peoples. Candidates must be a Registered Nurse (RN) and maintain a current registration with the College of Nurses (CNO) of Ontario in good standing.This role also requires self-motivation, flexibility, adaptability to change and a passion for learning and student success. You have the ability to enhance the student experience by creating a rich and open learning environment that embraces creative teaching and evaluation methods that promote inclusion and diversity. You have the ability to work independently and in a collaborative environment, with strong conflict resolution and leadership abilities, including the drive to continuously learn and achieve results through consultative decision-making processes. Superior interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to deliver and receive feedback, as well as highly developed critical thinking/problem solving, and organizational/time management skills are required. This role requires the incumbent to demonstrate accountability and responsiveness to students, colleagues and the community, including a proven knowledge of current and upcoming industry trends in healthcare.You have demonstrated cultural awareness and a commitment to Fleming’s Honouring the Rights of Indigenous People Policy. Extensive experience developing & delivering curriculum in the form of lectures, seminars, labs, field trips, work placements, simulation, interprofessional educational experiences, and/or other innovative delivery methods is also required. You foster student success through the use of effective, consistent and timely feedback underpinned with a competency and outcomes-based approach to achievement.
