Confined Space Technician - On-Site Rescue Inc. has provided industry across the province with professional industrial confined space support since 2008. We are seeking mature individuals with an interest in firefighting, rope rescue, confined space rescue and industrial health and safety to join our team. Our primary position is called a Confined Space Attendant, whom is responsible for everything from completing the client’s documentation related to the space ie; Hazard Assessment and Entry Permit as well as atmospheric testing, ventilation, communications, monitoring the well-being of Entrants. We try to offer 40 hours per week but due to the cyclical nature of this job it is not always possible.You will be expected to arrive on time, liaison with the company’s staff and efficiently organize our gear and documentation so that the client can complete the work in the confined space as safely and efficiently as possible. You will be required to awake early and arrive at the shop to pick up our company vehicle. Many of our clients are in the GTA and most shifts start at their site at 7:00am. Shifts can range a minimum of 4 hrs and are often 8 hours but the end time remains variable. Usually we are performing our work inside a plant but occasionally our sites are outdoors as well.An ideal applicant will have taken the college Firefighting program or similar, have a CPR and First Aid Cert, rope rescue training as well as other standard required training certs. The will be physically strong and capable of rescuing a person from confined space. They must pay attention to detail, be organized, work well with others and communicate effectively. They must have a clear drivers abstract and a current drivers license. In the current environment and with most of our sites requiring vaccination, we must also say that our candidates will have to have proof of COVID double Vaccination and provide a record there of.With respect to training, we can provide the basics; Confined Space Awareness, Confined Space Rescue, Working at Heights, WHMIS, Workers 4 Steps to Safety, etc.As an Attendant you will be trained in house to Confined Space Regulations including but limited to:· Defining a Confined Space· Roles and Responsibilities· Hazard Assessment· The Plan· Coordination Documentation Training· Entry Permit· Isolations of Energy and Control of Materials Movement· Atmospheric Testing· Ventilation and Purging· Hot Work· On-site Rescue Procedures· Means of Entering and Exiting· Preventing Unauthorized Entry· Roles and Responsibilities· DocumentsPart-time hours: 40 per weekExpected start date: 2021-10-11Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, CasualSalary: $18.00-$22.00 per hourAdditional pay:
