Job Description

Salary: $16-20/hourLocation: Peterborough, OntarioStart Date: As soon as possibleStatus: 3-month contract, minimum 24 hours/week to maximum 40 hours/week,contract to be extended for the right candidateJOB PURPOSEHabitat for Humanity Peterborough & Kawartha Region is a non-profit housing organization that bringscommunities together to help families build strength, stability, and independence through affordablehomeownership.Habitat Peterborough is currently seeking a construction labourer who is willing and able to learn newskills in a fast-paced environment. Reporting to the Construction Manager and Site Supervisor, theprospective candidate will gain valuable hands-on experience on our multi-unit residential build site inPeterborough.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist Site Supervisor in a variety of daily tasks
  • Clean and prepare interior and exterior of construction site as needed, including removing and
properly disposing of construction debris and waste materials
  • Maintain a safe and positive job site by adhering to safety standards and working cooperatively
alongside a range of different building trades
  • Help load, unload, and catalog construction supplies
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Capable of staying on task in a fast paced, changing environment
  • Construction experience is an asset
  • Familiarity on the operation of a variety of hand and power tools, such as drills, impacts, saws, and
laser levels an asset
  • Heavy equipment experience is a bonus
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs and do physical work daily
  • Clear criminal record check
