Funded by Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada, and in partnership with the New Canadians Centre in Peterborough, our free LINC program offers a friendly atmosphere for participants to learn English conversation skills, reading, writing, grammar, and vocabulary at both beginner and intermediate levels.LINC curriculum is grounded in Portfolio-Based Language Assessment (PBLA) principles in language instruction and is aligned with the Canadian Language Benchmarks (CLB). Contract faculty deliver curriculum in a variety of ways including face-to-face and online classes and e-learning using the Avenue.ca learning management software.You will play a pivotal role by demonstrating teaching excellence through proven adaptability with diverse learners, and the creation of a learning environment that motivates and engages learners, using a variety of teaching methodologies and delivery methodologies.This position has been designated as hybrid/partially remote and is expected to be on-site 50% of the time.For More InformationPlease see the Professor Definition and the Guidelines for Professional Practice - Faculty.What We Are Looking For:Education:You possess a relevant combination of education and experience including a university degree and current TESL Ontario certification, as well as knowledge of LINC curriculum and guidelines, including the Canadian Language Benchmarks and Portfolio-Based Language Assessment.Previous Teaching Experience:Your recent, related work experience in teaching English as a Second Language has included curriculum, assessment, and materials design.Candidates must have at least 3 years of recent post-secondary ESL teaching experience and demonstrate intercultural awareness.You will be available to teach day and/or evening classes.Communication: Superior interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to deliver and receive feedback, as well as well-developed critical thinking/problem solving and organizational / time management skills are required.
