  • support the development, integration, maintenance and discovery of geospatial and tabular data, and databases
  • provide geographical information system technical guidance and support to internal clients, partners and users
  • assist clients and partners by researching new data management technologies and techniques
  • lead projects related to improving data quality, flow and functionality
  • resolve discrepancies, improve processes, workflow and information flow
  • develop, test and implement new routines to integrate and manage data
How do I qualifyTechnical Expertise:
  • You have technical knowledge and experience in geographic information systems and data management theory, current programming and scripting languages.
  • You have knowledge of database development and information gathering methodologies, automated support tools, data dictionaries, logical design and data modelling.
  • You have knowledge of one or more natural resources fields such as wildlife, fisheries, forestry, biodiversity/habitat and associated inventory, research and monitoring processes and techniques.
Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills:
  • You have analytical and evaluative skills to research, interpret and assess data management and information requirements, to design products and procedures and to evaluate and recommend data management techniques.
Project Management and Team Building Skills:
  • You have project management, team building, negotiation and consensus building skills to reach agreement on directions, schedules and outcomes of projects.
Communication and Interpersonal Skills:
  • You have well-developed verbal communication skills to discuss client technical requirements and provide information to end users.
  • You have strong written communication skills to write manuals, procedures and information documents regarding data information management.
  • You have sound interpersonal skills to convey and explain technical and administrative issues with tact and diplomacy to non-technical clients, users, junior and senior staff.
