What Are We AboutThe Fleming College Athletic and Recreation Department invites applications for the position of Head Coach for the Men’s Varsity Basketball Program. Fleming College is a proud member of the Ontario Colleges Athletic Association (OCAA) and the Canadian Colleges Athletic Association (CCAA). This is a part-time administrative contract position. The Head Coach will be a representative of Fleming College and must conduct themselves professionally and according to the policies and terms of employment outlined by the College.**Season begins in early November with initial tryouts and practises with regular season beginning in January 2022 **What This Position is About:To lead the Men’s Varsity basketball team including student-athlete selection and developmentFleming competes in the OCAA East Region. Home and away schedule includes 12 games and plays selected exhibition games and tournamentsImplementation of practises and game plan preparationEncouragement of academic performance and contributing to a safe and inclusive environmentTo lead in team developmentTo provide front-line supervision and guidance to Assistant CoachesTo travel with the teams to all competitionsTo provide feedback and input to players and other coaching staff as requiredTo inform the Assistant Coaches in advance of any sessions that cannot be attendedMaintenance of safety standards and equipmentTo work with the Athletics department in providing summary reports upon request for leadership, local media, social media and Athletics Website.The Head Coach needs to be able to work effectively with the players, Assistant Coach, Fleming College Athletic Department and other members of the College and local community.The hours of work for the Head Coach will be directly based upon the requirements of the team including practice and game schedules but will not exceed 100 hours for the contract period.For More Information:For a complete job description, please refer to the document found here: Job DescriptionExplore what Fleming College has to offer and the beautiful communities we are surrounded by.
