The Department of Athletics and Recreation invites applications for the contract position of Head Coach for the Knights Men’s Volleyball Team.Reporting to the Manager, Student Experience and Athletics and receiving functional guidance from the Athletics Coordinator, the Head Coach is accountable for all duties associated with the operation of the varsity men’s volleyball program to create an excellent environment for Fleming student athletes to develop and succeed.** Season begins in early November with initial tryouts and practices with regular season beginning in January 2022**What This Position is About:Provide leadership, and development for Assistant Coaches, Student Athletes and Volunteers in pursuit of educational and athletic goals.Responsible for the conduct of coaching staff and student athletes while representing the College as part of the team in all capacities. Responsible for the maintenance of high safety standards and equipment and determination of program equipment needs in consultation with the Athletic Coordinator.Technical, tactical, physical and psychological preparation of the team and athletesIdentification, recruitment and selection of quality student athletes to make up the team and ensuring eligibility of athletesSupport for identified fundraising and promotional opportunities to support the program and Fleming KnightsKnowledge and compliance with Fleming, OCAA and CCAA rules and regulationsThe competitive season begins early September and runs through the end of FebruaryThe team practices 3 times per weekFleming competes in the OCAA East Region.
