Attention Strategic Thinkers!Are you an experienced and strategic Human Resources Business Partner Do you have a proven track record of leading HR business transformations, building effective partnerships with executives and the confidence to influence and impact the status quo Do you thrive in a fast-paced environment and have the ability to handle multiple priorities at the same time If so, consider this opportunity to be a key player in the Strategic Human Resources Business Branch with the Ministry of Northern Development, Mines, Natural Resources and Forestry.About Us:The Strategic Human Resources Business Branch provides strategic human resources planning, advice and analytics to senior executives for both the Ministry of Northern Development, Mines, Natural Resources and Forestry and the Ministry of Indigenous Affairs to support the delivery of government priorities and ministry business commitments. The branch partners with executives to ensure people strategies are in place to support the business strategies and goals. This involves providing services related to talent and performance management, workforce planning, organizational capacity, diversity and engagement, health, safety and wellness and strategic labour relations. The branch is also responsible for leading a wide range of HR initiatives including youth employment programs, accessibility, diversity and inclusion and leadership development and learning.What can I expect to do in this roleYou will use your expertise to provide strategic HR advice to clients on:

  • Provide business assessment, advice and customized strategy development to enable clients to achieve business objectives
  • Assess human capital needs and identify strategic solutions to support a high performing organizational culture
  • Develop submissions for organizational or business transformation initiatives
  • Conduct research, analysis, and workforce analytics to inform the design and implementation of HR strategies
  • Design, develop and deliver talent and organizational development initiatives
  • Advise on a range of dispute management matters, including investigations, reviews and recommendations related to HR legislation and policies
• Develop project and implementation plans, business cases and analysis documents•
  • Design and facilitate sessions with clients and stakeholders
You will showcase your collaboration and project management skills by:
  • Contributing to innovative solutions on complex and multi-faceted issues
  • Developing strategic products that move the bar on various ministry and corporate initiatives
How do I qualifySpecialized HR Knowledge:
  • You have expertise in talent and performance management, human capital planning and organizational design.
  • You are knowledgeable about HR legislation, and HR policies and programs in several of the following strategic HR knowledge areas: health and wellness, employee engagement, accessibility, compensation and strategic labour relations.
  • You are up to date on diversity, inclusion and anti-racism priorities and can apply that knowledge in providing advice to clients.
Leadership and Project Management Skills:
  • You have strong project management skills and proven ability to lead projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • You have strategic planning skills to effectively translate organizational priorities into integrated strategies and develop implementation and evaluation plans, resources and tools for action.
Consulting and Relationship Management Skills:
  • You have developed and sustained solid working relationships with executives, clients, colleagues and internal/external partners.
  • You act with integrity, your commitment to confidentiality is unquestioned and you can develop appropriate responses to sensitive situations.
  • You can assess complex HR problems and provide credible, responsive and responsible solutions within the context of legislated requirements and corporate policies.
  • You have keen research skills and experience applying HR data to develop strategic analyses and recommendations.
Communication and Presentation Skills:
  • You are able to prepare and present various reports, proposals, program information and briefing materials for a senior executive audience.
  • You have experience designing and facilitating results-oriented discussions with clients/stakeholders and the ability to influence decision making.
Talent Management Skills:
  • You have proven knowledge of talent management programs, succession planning and retention strategies to identify existing talent and talent needs.
  • You are able to identify gaps and create and implement strategies to develop and retain talent.
  • You have the ability to advise, influence and coordinate with senior management on business transformation, talent and performance management, workforce and human capital, organizational capacity and engagement, organizational health, safety and wellness and strategic labour relations.
  • You have experience developing programs and training to enhance organizational capacity.
