Job Description

Position: Human Resources ManagerDepartment: Human ResourcesPosition Status: Full-TimeThe OpportunityAs a key member of the Human Resources leadership team, you will provide operational and strategic support to our initiatives, programs and services. This role will oversee a group of talented professionals on the Employee & Labour Relations, Talent Acquisition and Employee Experience teams and drive the HR functional excellence. You will bring your strong relationship building skills to collaborate with the hospital leadership team to coordinate Workforce Planning, Organizational Development, Performance Management, and Recognition initiatives. In addition, with your hands-on approach and experience in fast-paced and complex environment, you will monitor the pulse of the hospital by supporting engagement and process improvements.You will bring to this role a broad, Generalist background, with experience in Employee & Labour Relations, and a passion for growing, developing and leading teams.Your background & Experience· A university degree in Human Resources, Business, other related discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience· Ability to demonstrate continuous learning in the related fields such as: Compensation (i.e. CPP), Human Resources (CHRP or CHRL), Adult Education, Talent Acquisition, Occupational Health & Safety, Wellness, Return to Work, Attendance Support, Scheduling, Human Resources Information Systems, Workforce Analytics, Project Management, or Continuous Improvement. Designations/certifications in good standing would be preferred· Previous leadership experience preferred· Previous related Human Resources management experience in the public sector (ideally hospital/healthcare) would be desired· A minimum of 5 years’ experience across multiple areas of human resources e.g. Employee & Labour Relations, Compensation, Talent Acquisition and Selection, Health and Safety, Total Rewards, Wellness, Learning, etc. is requiredYour skills· Interpersonal Sensitivity: demonstrated ability to understand and appropriately respond to the concerns of others, practicing active listening when interacting with individuals or groups and the ability to reflect on verbal and non-verbal behaviour and communicate effectively.· Collaboration: demonstrated ability to collaborate and engage constructively with others to be part of the team working with others.· Impact & Influence: demonstrated ability to advocate, motivate, persuade, convince or influence others to gain support and commitment.· Organizational Awareness: demonstrates organizational awareness with a clear sense of organizational impact.· Planning, Coordination & Execution: demonstrated ability to plan and coordinate work, understand and effectively manage resources, prioritize steps to be taken, anticipate potential barriers and develop contingency to address to execute and achieve objectives.· Service & Quality Orientation: demonstrated desire to provide quality, patient centered care.· Developing Others: demonstrated ability to foster learning & development of others through coaching, managing performance and mentoring to stretch and challenge others to develop and achieve new skills/competencies.· Holding Self & Others Accountable: demonstrated success by establishing appropriate levels of responsibility, holding others accountable and implementing appropriate recognition or consequences.· Visionary Leadership: demonstrated ability to inspire others toward common goals through engagement and empowerment.· Business Acumen: demonstrated awareness of issues, processes and outcomes as they impact the organization’s and stakeholders’ strategic directions.· Strategic Orientation: demonstrated understanding of the business implications of decision on one’s role and link daily work to the organization’s strategy.· Leadership Presence: demonstrates an accurate sense of one’s strengths and limitations and seeks support in providing leadership that makes a difference to patients and staff.About PRHCPRHC is a regional hospital delivering acute healthcare to a rapidly growing population of more than 300,000 in Peterborough and the surrounding communities, including the First Nations of Curve Lake, Alderville and Hiawatha.
