Are you looking for a unique and exciting experienceDo you have a big heart to serve othersWant to make a difference in the lives of seniors in your communityHome Instead has the opportunity for you!The Live-In Caregiver program is a specialized service to support seniors to remain in their homes. What makes this position unique is that you get to be with a senior, providing one-on-one care in their home. This means you have the exciting chance to not only care for someone but build a positive relationship with them, too!OPPORTUNITY DESCRIPTION:

  • Live on-premises at a seniors home to support them 24/7
  • 3-4 day rotation (3-4 days off in a row!)
  • 12 paid hours per day on the clock
  • 12 hours off the clock to rest (8 hours for sleep and 4 hours of additional down time per day)

Typical tasks of a Caregiver include:
  • Building a one-on-one relationship with a senior
  • Planning and preparing quality meals
  • Light housekeeping work (sweeping, vacuuming, laundry, everyday tasks)
  • Providing personal care (assist with bathing, grooming, toileting, incontinence care)
We also serve senior clients living with Alzheimers and other types of dementia! (Training provided)REQUIREMENTS to be a Caregiver:
  • Be able to treat seniors with dignity and respect
  • Ability to communicate in a friendly, congenial manner with the office and clients
  • Complete a vulnerable sector check and drivers abstract
  • Possess a valid drivers license and valid insurance with a reliable car (Ideally)
  • Have open availability
  • Past experience in a care-centred role
