Job Description

Please review Seneca’s COVID-19 Vaccination Policy prior to applying to this position.Position Summary:Reporting to the Chair, School of Aviation, the incumbent will work closely with the Chair, to provide leadership and project management to special projects within the School of Aviation and Seneca Business . The Manager, will work closely with the Chair to evaluate, develop, implement and manage new and existing projects requiring curriculum review, development and design.Responsibilities:Special Projects (Curriculum and Instructional Design)

  • Works with the Chair to evaluate the potential of new academic programs internally and externally.
  • Project manages all special projects related to Aviation business including those involving activities with external partners.
  • In collaboration with the Chair, develop new strategic industry partnerships and projects.
  • As assigned by the Chair, oversees external project curriculum design and development
  • In collaboration with the Chair and faculty, develop new program proposals and curriculum for program launch and redevelopment.
Coordination and Management (Audits and Assessments)
  • Work with Chair to appropriately assign audit work to School staff and faculty.
  • Chair the Quality Assessment Committee.
  • Support Curriculum Assessment processes and continuous improvement implementation.
  • Assist faculty with course assessment and revision.
  • Oversee the collection of required audit evidence.
  • Oversee self-study writing and completion.
Support to Faculty (Academic Curriculum and Classroom Management)
  • As necessary, conducting an orientation for all new faculty members at the beginning of each semester, which may include workshops on classroom management, Seneca policies and procedures and an introduction to the Seneca Business and the School’s critical dates and processes.
  • Administering the processes for recruitment of new faculty under the supervision of the Chair.
  • As necessary conduct introductory and recurrent curriculum assessment workshops for all School of Aviation faculty
  • Provides ongoing support and feedback, regular evaluation sessions and determine the professional development needs of those being supervised.
  • Performs classroom observation to give faculty on teaching and learning strategies under the supervision of the Chair.
  • Provides day-to-day supervision of faculty for curriculum delivery and departmental projects.
External and International Partnerships
  • Working closely with Seneca International on existing and proposed joint ventures/partnerships etc.
  • Being part of the team that gauges the value and the feasibility of proposals from Seneca International and other internal departments.
Qualifications:Education
  • Minimum completed four (4) year Degree in Education, Higher Education Administration or a related field. If in a related field, please state how it is relevant.
  • A Master’s degree in Education or related field is considered an asset.
Experience
  • Minimum five (5) years’ progressive administrative or teaching experience within post-secondary is required.
  • Experience in program and curriculum assessment for program accreditation and external auditors is required.
Skills
  • Effective and efficient verbal and written communication skills.
  • Professional presentation skills both verbally and written.
  • Well-developed public relation and relationship-building skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to motivate and inspire faculty.
  • Ability to diplomatically establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external contacts.
  • Cross-cultural sensitivity, and a commitment to understanding and serving Seneca’s diverse community.
