Job Description

Seeking a Medical Office Assistant for an Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery clinic in Downtown Peterborough.The successful candidate will be working with 1 surgeon and will have multiple administrative roles, including managing reception, rooming patients, and organizing medical equipment.Qualifications:

  • Experience as a surgical Medical Office Assistant is favourable
  • Certification by a Medical Office Assistant Program is favourable
  • Strong interpersonal skills with attention to detail
  • Desire to work with diverse patients requiring clinical and surgical management
  • Individuals who are adaptable and motivated to learn new skills
The successful candidate will be responsible for the following functions in the clinic:
  • Reception: Scheduling medical appointments, triaging referrals, greeting patients, receiving and filing communications/medical results, problem solving etc.
  • Performing basic disinfection and decontamination of exam rooms and medical equipment
  • Rooming patients, ordering and managing medical inventory

  • 8 hour shift
COVID-19 considerations:Common surfaces are sanitized regularly, with exam rooms cleaned between each patient. Patients and staff are required to wear a mask in the clinic. Plexiglass will be installed to protect the staff at reception.Ability to commute/relocate:
  • Peterborough, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
