  • Research initiatives and undertake projects to develop options related to Resource Revenue Sharing (RRS) with Indigenous organizations and communities
  • Undertake policy and issue coordination and analysis and participate in the development of policy/program recommendations
  • Participate in policy assignments and develop viable recommendations
  • Provide advice and analysis to senior management regarding policy and program issues
  • Provide support for senior staff, participate in consultations with other ministries, Cabinet Office and stakeholders to advance the policy agenda
  • Develop and maintain stakeholder relationships and consultation frameworks with senior staff
  • Prepare presentations and briefing materials for senior levels of staff
  • Maintain awareness of policy, business and economic trends and briefs senior management
How do I qualifySpecialized Knowledge and Skills:
  • You have knowledge of policy development principles.
  • You have knowledge of program analysis and evaluation techniques.
  • You have knowledge of social, economic, legal and political issues underlying Indigenous policy development.
Research and Analytical Skills:
  • You can identify and assess issues requiring policy or program response, develop options, and make recommendations.
  • You have research and analytical skills to evaluate trends, conduct research and assist with the development of policies and strategies.
  • You can synthesize information and materials to prepare comprehensive briefing materials and reports and present research findings.
Relationship Management, Consultation and Facilitation Skills:
  • You can establish effective working relationships and partnerships with internal/external stakeholders.
  • You have consultation skills to contribute to policy working groups, and to exchange information, discuss issues, and gain support.
  • You have facilitation skills to work with inter-jurisdictional policy teams in identifying potential issues and problems and contributing to formulation of solutions.
Communication Skills:
  • You have written communication skills to prepare draft policy papers, reports, correspondence, briefing notes, and materials using standard computer applications.
  • You have presentation skills to provide advice on policy development and approval processes to senior staff and external stakeholders.
