Job Description

Be part of the Sustainable Future www.chopvalue.caThe Production Lead will work in collaboration with the Team to ensure that manufacturing orders are completed in a timely and efficient manner. This role would require leading the manufacturing of final products and includes overseeing the various substations involved in the process. The selected candidate will be responsible for the following tasks: ResponsibilitiesGeneral Production Planning

  • You ensure production targets are delivered
  • You work as a leader of our Precision Woodworking team
You work closely with our Operations Coordinator, and delegate daily objectivesto ensure customer orders are shipped on time.You act as Production Lead which entails;
  • Set daily production goals and track team productivity.
  • Maintain machinery and equipment.
  • Supervise the production team to work safely in accordance with local standards and internal guidelines.
  • Grasp a full awareness of all the ins and outs of production flow, including an advanced knowledge of each manufacturing station.
  • Ensure compliance to Corporate manufacturing processes (i.e. SOS and SOP’s) to ensure quality and safe practices are sustained.
  • Ensure best shop standards are maintained; including cleanliness, general tidiness, and organization of facility
  • Team retention through the creation of a shop environment that listens to feedback and holds individuals accountable, whilst offering room for growth and Development.
  • Employee performance management including; attendance, performance and quality of work
Woodworking
  • Read schematics and product specifications and translate this into daily tasks for the woodworking team.
  • Coach apprentices and employees, getting the best from team members.
  • Adapt and execute lean manufacturing methodologies with a focus on eliminating waste,
  • improve process and boost operational performance
Fulfillment
  • You are proficient at laser engraving for custom marking
  • You coach team members to be efficient and follow process
Qualifications
  • Demonstrated leadership competencies through team management.
  • Strong written and verbal communication.
  • Including computer skills including knowledge of communication tools
  • Slack
  • Spreadsheets (Google Sheets)
  • Team player with strong listening skills; actively creates and executes on team goals.
  • Previous experience in startups, or lean manufacturing is an asset.
Requirements
  • Certification or equivalent in Joinery/ cabinet making preferred
  • Minimum 3 year experience in Supervision in a Manufacturing/Production environment
