Job Description

What can I expect to do in this roleProvide information and advice on financial analyses, and expenditure control to client staff and managers, interpreting policies and procedures, to support branch projects and initiativesProvide financial coordination analysis, advice and recommendations to managers. Assist in the development of financial models used to determine trends and variations in expenditure patterns for the purpose of accurate forecasting and planningIdentify, develop and implement under the direction of the manager, benchmarks, performance measures, indicators and outcomes to measure the effectiveness of branch programs and services and the delivery of products and services to customersGather information for, and assist with evaluating project proposals, analyzing financial impact and resource requirements; and, recommending appropriate action initiatives to senior management.. Provide analytical support for special projects and producing comprehensive financial reports as requiredPrepare briefing notes and business cases for management in support of business plans, providing research and analysis, compiling information, developing options and clarifying impacts, identifying linkages to corporate priorities where appropriate.Communicate both orally and in writing adapting approach for intended target audience to give presentations to team and managers and facilitate information sessions. Convey complex ideas in writing using a clear, cohesive and concise style.How do I qualifyKnowledge, Skills and Abilities:This job requires knowledge in one or more of the following: audit, business, finance, accounting, budgeting and/or economics principles and practices, such as long and short range financial planning, financial forecasting, allocating budgets and targets, monitoring, tracking processing transactions, financial controllership and reporting, and generally accepted accounting/ financial management principles acquired through a series of business courses and related work experience sufficient to prepare budgets and in-year budget forecasts; analyze monthly financial reports to identify variances and plan for in-year pressures. This job requires knowledge of practices, methods and advancements in business management to assist in reporting on financial transactions.Position requires knowledge of financial performance measures to assist in measuring the effectiveness of branch programs and services and evaluating project proposals.NOTE:Successful candidates may be required to undergo an employment screening check in accordance with the Ontario Employment Screening Checks Policy.Eligibility:

  • Proof of eligibility to work in Canada;
  • Has graduated or will graduate from an approved or legally authorized college or university with a diploma or an equivalent degree or postgraduate certificate within the last four years;
  • Candidates are only eligible to participate in one MNRF 12-month placement and must not have participated in the MNRF internship program in the past.

Employees who are not vaccinated under the policy with a valid medical exemption will not be required to attend a vaccine education program.
