Fleming offers more than 100 full-time programs in Environmental and Natural Resource Sciences, Fine Arts, General Arts and Science, Technology, Skilled Trades, Community Development, Health, Business, and Justice as well as other Continuing Education courses.We are also extremely proud of our more than 73,000 Fleming alumni who are contributing to their communities in the region, across the province and around the world.What Are We AboutPlease Note: This is a temporary, full time contract, starting immediately for a minimum of 3 months with the possibility of extensionWe are seeking someone who can jump right into this vital role.This key role provides business analysis and solutions in the development, maintenance and enhancement of all Peoplesoft processes for Human Resources and Payroll systems and related business functionality (e.g. bolt-on applications; third-party software) within Human Resources. In this position you will work with HR and Payroll end-users, Information Technology staff, vendor representatives and College leaders to gather functional information and translate it into detailed business requirements, functional specifications, test plans, end-user training materials, and procedural documentation.There are three main aspects to this role …One, this position plays a pivotal role in introducing new functions and features in the HR system. We use many of the PeopleSoft HR modules (Human Resources, Payroll, Time & Labour, Absence, Recruiting and Learning) and are seeking to take better advantage of the system’s capabilities. You would be expected to learn the current business process, configure the system to best suit our needs, train appropriate users and support the system once rolled out.Two, as an HR organization, we are constantly relied upon to provide accurate data and business analytics for both operational and strategic business needs. You would develop a portfolio of reports to provide to the College’s users or to external parties. You would respond to the request, understand the user’s requirements, develop the report and then deploy it to the requestor.Three, you would provide operational support to the team on the HR system. This could involve day-to-day troubleshooting of unexpected problems, reacting to government-legislated or collective agreement changes or keeping our system up-to-date with respect to maintenance levels. You are naturally inquisitive and constantly asking questions about why things work the way they do. You are the type of person who would gladly assist someone with whatever problem they have. You have the ability to translate functional requirements into technical solutions, and work well with IT teams to help them understand what we need, and collaborate with them to produce innovative designs and then test the solution that they have produced.You have a 3-year diploma or degree in Computer Science or related field. You have a minimum of five (5) years of recent work experience in any combination of the following:

  • Functional experience with Enterprise Resource Planning software, specifically PeopleSoft
  • Advanced knowledge of database reporting tools
  • Project management
  • Requirements definition and translation into solutions
  • Functional testing
  • Troubleshooting system problems
