Job Description

Job Title: Food Services: Assistant CookLocation: Pilot Mound, MBJob Type: Full-time, Shift Rotation (8-12-hour shifts including evenings and weekends) About the Role: Join our dynamic team as a Food Services: Assistant Cook! We are looking for a caring, energetic individual who is passionate about cooking and working with adolescents in a supportive, inclusive environment. You will play a key role in preparing nutritious meals and snacks to properly fuel elite athletes, working alongside our Food Services: Cook and other team members. Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in meal and snack preparation according to the established PMHA Food Services Menu.
  • Prepare meals and snacks for team travel as required.
  • Bake a variety of desserts and baked goods throughout the week.
  • Adapt mealtimes to accommodate game and travel schedules.
  • Maintain a clean, organized kitchen environment, including doing dishes and cleanup.
  • Collaborate with other cooks and kitchen staff to ensure efficient and effective operations.
  • Continuously expand knowledge of elite athlete nutrition to keep menus varied and nutritious.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Food Services: Cook or Director, Student Life.
Qualifications:
  • 1+ years of experience in food preparation or the restaurant industry.
  • Valid Food Handlers Certificate.
  • Strong knowledge of food handling procedures and ability to follow standardized recipes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a caring and energetic approach.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Understanding of student athlete needs and a commitment to providing a positive experience.
  • Comfort working in a multicultural environment.
  • Familiarity with technology and social media is an asset.
  • Must provide a Criminal Record and Child and Adult Abuse Registry check.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
