The field consists of sour well production and a gathering system that transports production to process facilities in the area.This position requires daytime coverage consisting of 10 hour shifts working on an 8 – 6 rotation. Requirement to be on call after hours.Responsibilities

  • Understand and perform safety responsibilities such as hazard identification, equipment lock-out, emergency response, and follow safe work procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulatory requirements. Responsible for corrective actions if required.
  • Ensure effective communication with operations, maintenance and management staff.
  • Operate field equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Troubleshoot process problems and identify opportunities for improvement and optimization, working closely with Lead Operator.
  • Monitor field well performance and/or facility conditions utilizing Cygnet systems.
  • Maintain superior housekeeping standards throughout the field and facilities at all times.
  • Responsible for minor maintenance and the coordination of other maintenance activities.
  • Ensure work orders are entered and completed for maintenance work.
  • Maintain proper documentation including plant logs, maintenance records, safety & environment reports, etc.
  • Assist with projects work, including turnarounds.
  • Track and maintain key performance indicators such as production, downtime and production losses.
Qualifications
  • Operational and maintenance experience on well site equipment. Good understanding of liquid well optimization, compression, and pipeline maintenance.
  • 4th Class Power Engineering Certificate, Gas Process Operations or Solis would be a plus.
  • Strong knowledge and experience in the operation of production wells, liquid separation, compression, water injection and associated pipeline networks would be an asset.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills are required.
  • Proficient in use and application of PC programs specifically in PVR, Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Ability and confidence to work with minimal supervision and proven strong leadership abilities.
  • Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and is open to take on a variety of operational challenges.
  • Strong mechanical and technical aptitude with proven analytical, trouble shooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Team player with strong interpersonal, organizational and communication skills required, ability to handle multiple tasks and make decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • This is a safety-sensitive position and will be subject to the relevant requirements of the Ovintiv Alcohol and Drug policy which includes pre-assignment testing.
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license.
