Job Description

Core FunctionReporting to the Manager, the Gas Bar Supervisor is responsible for delivering world-class customer service; supporting the Manager to achieve the department’s objectives; operating tills and pumps; overseeing staff, ordering and stocking merchandise; merchandising and displaying product; receiving; and maintaining department cleanliness and housekeeping standards. The Supervisor will provide leadership and will exemplify and promote the Co-op’s brand.ResponsibilitiesPrimary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Be a liaison and public relations representative for the Co-op within the communities we serve.
  • Deliver world-class customer service that is fast, friendly and efficient.
  • Follow all company policies and procedures, enforcing policies with staff when Manager not present.
  • Accept Manager’s duties in his or her absence, (as directed by the Manager.)
  • Follow proper till procedures.
  • Follow proper fuel dispensing procedures.
  • Working with the Manager, implement strategies to improve merchandising, cleanliness, sanitation, maintenance, and overall image standards.
  • Provide leadership in the area of health and safety. Assist in identifying unhealthy or unsafe situations and ensure corrective action is taken.
  • Focus on customer satisfaction and needs. Ensure that employees strive for service excellence on a consistent basis. Follow up on customer issues or complaints.
  • Prioritize, plan, and coordinate work activities. Manage time and resources so that work objectives are met.
  • Provide leadership and assistance to staff to ensure customer service goals and expectations are met or exceeded.
  • Provide support to the Manager in the area of employee relations, training, development, performance management, assigning duties, and staff recognition.
  • Motivate others to perform their job and work towards common objectives; serve as a role model to other employees; maintain a positive working environment and good employee morale.
  • Enforce company loss prevention program to prevent unauthorized removal of merchandise from the store.
  • Maintain positive working relationships with Co-op employees, suppliers, and customers.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
