Job Description

Stan Dawe Building Centres has been serving building supply customers in Central and Western Newfoundland since 1947. We employ over 60 associates and managers throughout the region and our Team is growing! We take pride in our people, customers and business and foster a great place to work!We are looking for an enthusiastic, results-oriented individual to join our team as Store Manager at our Port aux Basques, NL location. The Store Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the store, its staff, customer relations and overall performance. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:Responsibilities

  • Ensure a safe work environment by adhering to and ensuring compliance with our Health and Safety policies and procedures both in store and on site
  • Lead and develop a team to deliver outstanding customer service
  • Complete timely and accurate estimates and sales to customers
  • Immediately respond to customer complaints and resolve as best as possible
  • Manage and proactively build the company’s customer base
  • Maintain inventory at appropriate levels
  • Protect inventory and store property against internal and external loss
  • Direct merchandising in the store and ensure it is clean and organized
  • Oversee the daily operations of all store functions
  • Oversee maintenance of building, equipment, and vehicles
  • Attend training courses and meetings as required by management
Qualifications
  • Outstanding customer service skills and a professional attitude
  • Experience in a retail setting (preferably in hardware/building supplies)
  • Strong knowledge of hardware and building products
  • Post secondary training in business is preferred, however not required
  • Ability to supervise, lead and motivate employees
  • Have excellent computer, organizational and communication skills
  • Have a valid drivers license and clean driving abstract
