Job Description

An exciting opportunity exists in the fast-paced freight forwarding industry, CRSA Global Logistics is the premier freight forwarding service provider to Canadian retailers and we are looking for a qualified candidate to fill the position of Ocean Imports / Claims & OS&D Coordinator.We are looking for an energetic, detail oriented individual, who takes pride in providing excellent customer service while coordinating objectives to meet deadlines as necessary.The Ocean Imports & Claims, OS&D Coordinator is responsible for coordinating communications and data for the customers, ocean lines, port terminals and all supply chain partners, in managing inbound flow of imported goods from Asia to major Canadian Retailers. This position will also be responsible for the reporting and action for Claims, damages and mis-ships, in an effective and timely manner.This position offers a tremendous opportunity for a talented individual to gain or build on their experience in operations in the logistics industry.Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Process and bill inbound ocean vessel data for MLB vessels as well as for vessels transloaded at CRSA Global Logistics Vancouver CFS
  • Provide quality customer service and liaise with customers and ocean lines, port terminals, and other supply chain partners in managing these services in an effective and timely manner.
  • Coordinating and following through to ensure customers’ requirements are met and exceeded
  • Issue reports and notifications as required
  • Preparing paperwork for the warehouse for unloading marine containers and transloading to outbound units for final delivery as per customer’s specifications
  • Ensure a timely resolution of problems, inquiries and customer concerns associated with the retail supply chain
  • Coordinate, investigate and resolve all OS & D issues, claims and discrepancy reports, while maintaining accurate and updated records
  • Research causes of claims, analyze root causes, determine resolutions, communicate findings and provide superior quality customer service
  • File maintenance
  • Perform all other related duties within the departmental scope, as assigned
  • Provide training and guidance on backup coverage
  • Act as a direct backup on day to day logistics operational tasks when required
Education and Experience:
  • Transportation Industry (preference given to candidates with marine and freight forwarding experience)
  • Post Secondary Education in a transportation program (preferred however not a requirement)
  • PC software, Excel, Word, Outlook, MS Teams
  • In house computer system / Unix (asset)
Skills and Technical Knowledge:
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Effective communication skills, both orally and written
  • Must be computer literate and proficient in the use of Office Suite (Excel & Word required) as well as E-mail and capable of learning Unix and other in-house computer systems
  • Ability to work in a team set environment, as well as individually as required
  • Ability to work under stringent time constraints
  • Ability to set and adjust priorities to meet various objectives
  • Strong problem solving skills and analytical skills
  • Accurate and efficient data entry
  • Detail oriented
  • Ability to calculate and analyze data using various computer-based programs
