Job Description

Lead Outdoor Educator – Summer 2025 (Temporary Full-Time). Dates: July 7 – August 22, 2025. Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 4:00 PM.Are you passionate about nature-based education and love working with children We #39;re looking for an experienced, energetic, and collaborative Lead Outdoor Educator to join our team for the summer of 2025!About the Role:As Lead Outdoor Educator, you will be responsible for delivering engaging, inclusive, and developmentally appropriate programming for children aged 6 - 11 yrs in an outdoor setting. You’ll work closely with a supportive team of co-teachers to create meaningful experiences in nature and foster strong relationships with children and their families.Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and implement daily outdoor, nature-based programming.
  • Ensure the safety, engagement, and well-being of children at all times.
  • Foster a welcoming, inclusive, and positive environment for children and families.
  • Communicate effectively with children, caregivers, and fellow staff.
  • Collaborate with co-teachers to provide high-quality supervision and support.
  • Apply strong judgment, creativity, and problem-solving skills in dynamic outdoor settings.
  • Participate fully in physical activities including walking, running, kneeling, and lifting (up to 30 lbs).
  • Thrive in all weather conditions—sunshine, rain, and everything in between!
Qualifications:
  • 19 years of age or older.
  • minimum 2 years experience working with school-aged children in educational or recreational settings.
  • Holds Responsible Adult Certificate.
  • Skilled in planning and leading engaging programming.
  • Valid Child Care First Aid Certificate.
  • Successful completion of a Criminal Record Check (required prior to start date).
