Job Description

We require a Machine Operator to support our manufacturing plant in Port Coquitlam.**This is a rotational shift:

  • Shift 1 will be from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm
  • Shift 2 will be from 3:00 pm to 11:00 pm
Time frame for shifts: Two weeks on, then rotation happens to opposite shiftResponsibilities include:
  • Reliable and hard working
  • Communicate with other shift operator(s) on status of production and machine
  • Maintain machine, moulds and jigs by following instructions to produce quality product
  • Perform in-process inspections according to the manufacturing specifications
  • Manually de-flash and trim parts as required
  • Report production according to established procedures
  • Maintain orderly work area
  • Other process support functions as assigned by the Shift Supervisor
  • Ensure safety procedures and policies are followed
Requirements for the role:
  • Able to read and interpret written manufacturing specifications
  • Comprehension of drawings and tolerances as related to rotational moulding production
  • Intermediate computer knowledge to navigate folders and enter production data
  • Inspect each part for compliance to acceptance criteria
  • Timely production of quality parts in coordination with production schedule
  • Able to use precision measuring instruments, such as calipers, scales, and ultrasonic thickness gauge
  • Adjusts machine settings to complete tasks accurately, according to specifications and schedule
  • Able to mix powder to specification while maintaining production schedule
  • Contribute to New Product Introduction, root cause analysis, corrective and preventive actions, and continual improvement
  • Able to operate all moulding machines including Start-up/Shut-down procedures
  • Able to complete preventive maintenance services for all moulding machines
  • Optimize machine efficiency
  • Able to complete machine preventive maintenance services according to checklist and instructions
  • Physically fit (able to move objects that weight up to 45lbs and stand or extended periods)
Nice to have:
  • Power tool/manual tool experience (I.E. drill, grinder, sander, wrenches, box cutter, etc.)
  • Experience in an industrial/construction/manufacturing setting
  • Forklift Certificate and/or previous experience
What we offer:
  • $20.00/hr. based on qualifications, skills and applicable experiences
  • Full-time
  • Health and dental benefits after 3 months
  • Signing bonus: $500 after 6 months and $1000 after 12 months
