Job Description

  • HighAngle Contracting Inc. is Western Canadas premier wireless communications contractor based in Port Coquitlam, near Vancouver, British Columbia. Since 2002, HighAngle has built a rock-solid industry reputation based upon the high quality of our installations and our responsive customer service.Highangle is looking for bright, motivated, Telecom Tower Riggers with a minimum of 2 years’ experience to start right away on some high profile, exciting projects.
  • DETAILED JOB DUTIES:
    • Responsible for erecting towers, installing and aligning antennas, installing transmission lines, hangers, tower grounding and installing communication equipment
    • Building wireless sites on rooftops, lattice towers, guy towers and monopoles
    • Tower climbing and rope access
    • PIM testing, line sweeps and ODU testing
    • Removing, installing and repairing various types and sizes of lines including fibre optic, co-axial and DC power
    • Install pinwheels, structural steel, cable tray, conduits, antenna mounts, antennas, transmission lines and ancillary equipment on communication towers
    • Perform all general ground procedures associated with the installation of a communication tower
    • Conduct inventory inspections and sort received materials on site
    • Ensure the proper inspection and use of personal safety equipment
    • Work safely on towers incorporating 100% tie off - fall protection practices
    • Ensure work is completed as per client and employer standards, prepare reports as required
  • CRITERIA/QUALIFICATIONS:
    • Minimum 2 - 3 years of experience as a telecom rigger Experience in and comfortable with working at heights of up to 200 meters (650 feet)
    • Ability to identify and select cables, ropes, blocks, and tackle by weight and size of load to be moved as per project requirements
    • Experience with equipment including OTDR and PIM tester Experience and knowledge in plumb and tension technique and ginpole use
    • Working knowledge in fall protection practice and procedures and tower life saving techniques
    • Experience in stacking monopoles and erecting towers General construction experience is an asset
    • Successful completion of related safety courses and first aid is an asset
    • Due to safety and the nature of the responsibilities, the ability to speak, read and write English is essential
