The role will oversee the responsibility of the Canadian Support Center marketing team, external media, advertising, PR, communications, promotions, loyalty programs, brand guidelines, product & digital marketing – web, eComm, email, social, as well as Sysco Brand development. The incumbent will provide strategic leadership for the Regional Marketing organization with tight linkage between Regional and Canada Support Center leadership teams.Role Responsibilities:

  • Own the strategy and planning of our integrated marketing roadmap including, our promotional strategy and our go-to-market strategies for all product, Sysco Brand, and campaign launches for Sysco Canada.
  • Create and implement Demand Generation strategies and campaigns to increase Market Share with a focus on brand awareness, product assortment and segment marketing.
  • Acts as the brand champion internally to ensure our brand standards and value propositions are communicated, distributed, trained and lived by all functional groups and across all Regions.
  • Manage all key agency partners across multiple brands including creative, media, analytics, and research.
  • Responsible for influencing/managing creative teams, across multiple channels and mediums to ensure innovation, challenging the status quo, on-time and on-budget delivery of our creative work.
  • Oversee both internal and external communications and advertising strategy.
  • Leverage relations with key industry organizations and vendor partner community.
  • Communicates broadly and frequently the companys vision, direction, goals, performance against plan, changes, and expectations through participation in department meetings, one-on-one meetings, and informal conversations with associates.
  • Create and implement Demand Generation strategies and campaigns to increase Market Share with a focus on brand awareness, product assortment and segment marketing.
  • Lead the current Sysco Rewards Program to drive sales growth and customer experience.
  • Strategic thinking, excellent analytical skills and possesses extensive knowledge in structured approaches to problem solving, i.e. continuous improvement.
  • Analyze trends and conduct root cause analysis to support continuous improvement efforts or remedy identified defects impacting outcomes.
  • Act as a senior member of the leadership team, actively engaging to align on direction, strategy, and goals and to show up as One Team within the Business
  • Complies with Sysco’s Food Safety Policy and procedures to ensure food safety, quality and legality requirements are met.
  • Understands both the economic and cultural value that a safe organization with minimal environmental impact brings to an organization.
  • Is willing to drive Environmental, Health and Safety performance by providing necessary resources and holding their team accountable to complying with EHS programs, policies, and requirements.
  • Positively influence and shape a large and inclusive organizational culture to be one that’s productive, vibrant, and a desirable place to work.
  • Ability to effectively lead change and transformational initiatives through sound change management practices that will ensure sustained adoption, including stakeholder engagement across multiple functions
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Skills/Job Requirements (About you):
  • Minimum of eight (8) years’ experience Marketing strategic management.
  • Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in a leadership role.
  • National/International scope of responsibility experience an asset
  • Bachelor’s Degree Marketing or related field.
  • Foodservice, CPG and other related industry experience.
  • Exceptional demonstrated leadership skills, managing highly effective teams.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills (verbal, written, presentations).
  • Strong relationship management skills to establish trust and credibility with associates, business leaders, and subject matter experts, getting results with and through others without formal authority.
  • Strong evaluation capabilities to interpret business needs and recommend effective solutions that meet business objectives.
  • Must have high level of organizational and time management skills, with the ability to meet competing, challenging, and changing priorities in a high-volume space and within a short timeframe.
  • Ability to implement change management strategies using consultation, facilitation, negotiation, coaching, and mentoring skills.
  • The successful candidate will be energetic, responsive, decisive, and must possess a good knowledge of the foodservice industry.
  • Strong knowledge of and confidence with Salesforce, Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook
  • Strong analytical and financial skills.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Solid knowledge of website analytic tools.
  • Good understanding of social media.
  • Knowledge of Marketing Cloud/Salesforce, DAM’s, Content Management Systems, Google Analytics.
  • Demonstrated abilities with email distribution systems.
  • Ability to succeed with minimal supervision in a deadline driven environment.
  • Exposure/familiarity to Lean Six Sigma environment is an asset
  • Valid driver’s license with access to a vehicle may be required.
