Job Description

Position Description:

  • Plan, organize and implement the museum summer children’s program
  • Recruit and train youth volunteers to assist with summer children’s program
  • Assist with customer service, special events, outreach activities, tours, exhibitions, collections management and routine museum operations.
  • Other duties as required.
RequirementsQualifications:
  • College or University Student enrolled in a visual art/education program, history, library science or other related programs with related work experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to interact with the public and assist as required.
  • Computer and general office skills; knowledge of MS Office, Past Perfect, Adobe Creative Suite an asset.
  • Experience and aptitude working with children and youth.
  • Excellent time management, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated research skills would be an asset.
  • Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Act.
  • First Aid Certification.
Note:Employment is conditional upon attendance at all training sessions, submission of required documentation/certification, adherence to the minimum age requirements and ability to meet the employment term.At time of application must be enrolled in a post-secondary education institution or institution of higher learning.
