You will join a dynamic and creative environment which celebrates diversity, promotes continued professional growth, and provides you with the opportunity to utilize your full range of skills, knowledge, and experience.This posting will establish a Relief Roster for Port Hawkesbury and will be used to fill multiple relief opportunities over the next several months.Primary AccountabilitiesWhen you join our team as a Case Aide, you will be joining a team that understands the value of community and focuses on strengthening children, youth, and families to live healthy and thriving lives. You will provide support to and ensure the safety and provision of basic childcare. You will be scheduled to fill these service requests, on an as required basis, within a 7-day work week.You may be required to complete contact, noncontact, and incident forms along with other related duties to help ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the Regional Case Aide and Transportation Services Program.Qualifications and ExperienceYou have three (3) years of related experience supporting children, youth, and/or families. An equivalent combination of training, education and experience will be considered.Experience in child welfare or other social services, including day care, or youth services is desirable. A completed bachelors degree in social sciences, or completed diploma in child and youth care, disability support services, human services, or social services are considered assets.You must have a valid drivers license, have the ability to travel, and access to a reliable vehicle. Visits are often scheduled at various times throughout the day, week, and weekends. Sometimes, hours and schedules will change requiring you to be flexible and willing to accommodate clients needs.Your personal resiliency is essential to meet the physical and emotional demands of this position. You will be immersed in high stress situations and encounter distraught youth and family members.Additional InformationThis Relief Roster will be used to fill multiple relief opportunities over the next several months.A relief employee is an employee who is not regularly scheduled by the Employer, but who works relief assignments on an as-needed basis as operational requirements demand. As such, a relief employee does not have guaranteed hours of work.
