We work collaboratively across the province with a strong dedicated network of supports and staff, to achieve desired and shared outcomes for all.About Our OpportunityThe Financial Clerk is a key team player on our Financial and Administration team. In this role, you are responsible for processing supplier payments in a timely and efficient manner and providing administrative support.Your work is performed in a fast paced, highly sensitive, confidential environment.Primary AccountabilitiesAs the Financial Clerk, a few of your key responsibilities will include:

  • Processing and verifying balances and payments related to vendors for program areas
  • Analyzing invoices and maintaining an accurate filing system for all vendor billing.
  • Tracking and organizing various data in our database, SAP, and spreadsheets.
  • Collaborating with staff to address discrepancies and errors.
  • Preparing monthly reports.
  • Performing deposits and handling cash.
  • Organizing filing, office inventory, typing various correspondence and maintaining and accurate bring-forward system.
You may assist the Coordinator in supporting the development of program, management and statistical (financial and operational) reports, and other administrative duties.Qualifications and ExperienceYou will have a minimum of four (4) years of related experience with accounting and financial coordination.You must be attentive to detail, highly meticulous and proficient with spreadsheets, and report writing. Experience with financial/ accounting/ bookkeeping principles and practices is necessary including knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). Client service skills, along with effective organizational and communication skills (verbal and written) are essential to your success.You must be organized and detail oriented; with demonstrated ability to use a variety of computer applications. Proficiency with Word, Excel, and Outlook is critical to your success as you work with multiple spreadsheets and database systems, including data entry. You must be proficient in the use of office equipment and technology (printers, laptops, laptop accessories, monitors, etc.).Assets include a familiarity with ICM (or other case management systems), SAP (or equivalent) and a general working knowledge of services offered by the Department and other community agencies.We will assess the above qualifications and competencies using one or more of the following tools: written examination, standardized tests, oral presentations, interview(s), and reference checks.EquivalencyAn equivalent combination of relevant training and experience will be considered. Related equivalencies include, but are not limited to:
  • A completed related bachelors degree
  • A completed related diploma and two (2) years of experience

This role requires repetitive tasks on regular basis; good hand dexterity for continual phone and computer use is beneficial. This role also requires a high level of visual and mental concentration. You may occasionally be required to move/lift light objects such as office supplies, equipment, and files. You will have daily contact with the public, various Government Departments as well as other local Agencies and Institutions. Your normal work week is 35 hours/week, 7 hours/day.Additional InformationThis is a Temporary opportunity with anticipated end date of February 15, 2023.
