Job Description

The Water Division summer student duties involve physical labour such as, but not limited to; ditch cleaning, grass cutting, weed whacking, tree pruning, landscaping, job site remediation, street box inspection, fire hydrant painting, GIS data gathering, debris and garbage pick-up, loading and unloading vehicles, digging/shoveling, raking, cleaning of facilities and job sites, moving materials and related activities.Additional duties include maintenance and repair of Works and Engineering assets such as, but not limited to; water mains, water valves, water services, fire hydrants, pumps and membranes.Assist as required with administrative tasks which may include filing, cataloguing, sorting, data entry and related office work. (Duties performed must be those which can be completed by a non-licensed water operator unless student holds a water license level OIT or greater). Benefits and Perks

Compensation and Work Term$16.55 per hourMay to August, 40 hours per weekQualifications
  • Valid and satisfactory G or G2 Ontario drivers licence is preferred.
  • Ability to perform physical labour outdoors for long periods of time.
  • Heavy lifting, pushing, pulling, moving of objects up to and above 20 kg.
