YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Reporting to the C.F.O., our new Accountant is the face of finance and takes on the financial accounting duties for all three of M amp;P Mercury’s locations, including:
  • Overseeing, supervising and mentoring M amp;P Mercury’s Accounting Assistant.
  • Leading M amp;P Mercury’s month-end close process.
  • Assisting year-end close and audit.
  • Reviewing and processing bi-weekly payroll reports in a timely fashion.
  • Developing and enhancing internal controls and processes to improve efficiency.
  • Supporting and providing technical support and advice to Finance team members.
  • Overseeing AP, AR, preparing bank reconciliation and manufacturers statement reconciliation.
  • Responsible for sales tax (GST/PST, luxury sales) filing.
YOUR QUALIFICATIONS
  • Over five (5) years of progressive experience in a dynamic, Financial Accounting role.
  • Bachelor’s degree or college diploma in Accounting or Finance.
  • Technically proficient in Microsoft Excel, ADP or Ceridian.
  • Proven work experience implementing internal controls and administering vacation pay.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly and confidently engage with co-workers.

  • Exceptional work ethic with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure work environment.

NICE-TO-HAVES
  • Possessing or near completion of CPA certification is considered an asset.
  • Proven work experience preparing financial statements is a bonus.
  • Relevant industry background working in a dealership is considered an asset.
