Job Description

Responsibilities:lt;/p gt;

  • Works under limited supervision and performs tasks according to written instructions and established procedures. lt;/li gt;
  • Performs repairs and assigned preventive maintenance services. lt;/li gt;
  • Performs inspection, diagnosis and repair of electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake and air systems on vehicles and equipment. lt;/li gt;
  • Utilizes vehicle computer electronics systems to interpret failure modes to initiate or assign repairs. lt;/li gt;
  • Estimates time and material costs on vehicle repairs and requisitions new parts. lt;/li gt;
  • Performs all work within Standard Repair Times (SRTs). lt;/li gt;
  • Performs service calls for emergency breakdowns. lt;/li gt;
  • Conducts safety checks on vehicles. lt;/li gt;
  • Completes required paperwork utilizing fleet maintenance software program associated with repairing vehicles, documenting parts usage, and accounting for repair times. lt;/li gt;
  • Assists senior Mechanics in the completion of project work. lt;/li gt;
  • Reviews, completes or assigns repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports. lt;/li gt;
  • Maintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with Corporate / Worksafe Standards, and performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures. lt;/li gt; lt;/ul gt;
Qualifications: lt;/span gt; lt;/p gt;
  • Two (2) years of relevant work experience. lt;/li gt;
  • Certified Red Seal Diesel Mechanic is an asset. lt;/li gt;
  • Stronglt;/u gt; lt;/b gt;mechanical knowledge and aptitude. lt;/span gt;
lt;/li gt;
  • Valid driver #39;s license and must have a clean driving record. lt;/li gt;
  • Class 3 Driver #39;s Licence or higher is an asset. lt;/li gt;
  • Ability to perform physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodations. lt;/li gt;
  • Able to successfully pass a background check consisting of an MTO medical/drug test, criminal history search, license verification and employment confirmation. lt;/li gt; lt;/ul gt;
