This position will be part of a dynamic team of engineers and scientists in Winnipeg, supporting other offices within Canada, engaged in a wide range of hydrotechnical and water management projects providing engineering and scientific services from pre-feasibility stage through to final design and construction. On occasion your expertise may be needed by our parent company Tetra Tech on some of their challenging international projects.Some of the Responsibilities you may have:

• Support the design team in delivering CAD drawings using MicroStation, NavisWorks and GeoPak
• Provide technical assistance to project teams and complete related quantity takeoffs
• Design water conveyance systems (such as canals, pipelines, etc.), water retention systems (such as dams, dykes, etc.), hydraulic structures (spillway, powerhouses, etc.), stormwater management, flood mitigation and erosion protection and other agriculture and municipal infrastructure
• Develop digital terrain models to prepare plan and profiles, cross-sections and details for design, tender, and construction drawings
• Prioritizing work and ensuring all processes and presentation follow company and client standards
• Working closely with engineering and drafting personnel in a team environment to meet project deadlines and targets
• Collaborate with other disciplines to develop complete sets of drawings including civil, geotechnical, and environmental aspects

Qualifications that would make you a great candidate:

• Demonstratable experience with MicroStation
• A post-secondary certificate/diploma from a recognized technical school
• Minimum of five (5) years of relevant engineering design experience for various infrastructure projects (heavy civil, dam, municipal or agriculture infrastructure design)
• Solid knowledge of MicroStation and working knowledge of AutoCAD and Civil3D
• Knowledge of geospatial data and coordinate systems along with Microsoft Office (Excel and Word)
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Aptitude for learning and wiliness to train and to further develop
• Creative problem solver who works in a professional and ethical manner and demonstrated strong work ethics and commitment to safety
