If we are describing you, then consider being a part of the Canada Life Team!Your Purpose at Canada Life:As a member of the Canadian Technology Team, you will be responsible for maintaining and building back-end HANA XSA applications and web services within the IFRS 17 solution delivery stack. You will work closely with actuarial and accounting customers, and internally with development teams to ensure high quality design and development application services. You will work collaboratively with business leaders, senior architects, and other developers to design, develop, and deploy solutions at regular intervals.   • Work alongside sponsors, project managers, and architects to create and execute project plans.
  • Translate conceptual user requirements into software requirements.
  • Work collaboratively within a team and closely with counterparts building front-end UI services.
  • Manage the design, development, and implementation of software requirements.
  • Document software and produce specifications for other developers and/or end users.
  • Participate in application releases from development, testing, and deployment into production.
  • Oversee and mentor more junior resources on the team.
  • Learn and be exposed to suite of evolving SAP technologies.
Primary Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of experience with software development using SAP Web IDE in SAP HANA XSA
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in development using HANA XSA artifacts (database procedures, calculation views, flowgraphs, cores data services (CDS))
  • Experience in building and maintaining OData services to build and consume RESTful API #39;S using SAP Cloud Application Programming framework (CAP)
  • Experience in creation of NodeJS / XSJS (SAP HANA XS JavaScript) applications to interact with external components (PI, ECC, BODS, etc.)
  • Experience in working with SAP HANA XSA User Authentication and Authorization (UAA) framework
  • Expertise with SQL
  • Proficiency with coding in JavaScript
  • Experience with SapUI5 and FIORI
  • Experience using Agile methodology and the use of JIRA
  • Proficiency with code versioning tools, such as Git
Skills considered an asset:
  • Knowledge in Relational Data Modeling Concepts, Relational Data Sources, Database Design, Star Schemas, Extended Star Schemas, Multi-Dimensional Modeling, OLAP Data Sources
  • Experience with SAP ABAP programming
  • Experience with Oracle databases
  • Experience developing SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) application reporting
  • Basic understanding of IFRS17 concept
  • Experience in Banking or Insurance industries
