Service Technician- LAWSON SALESLocation: Portage La Prairie, MBReports To: Service ManagerEmployment Type: Full-time, PermanentEligibility: Must be legally entitled to work in CanadaCompany Overview:At Lawson Sales, we take pride in being Manitoba’s trusted equipment dealership, offering sales, service, parts, and rental solutions for agricultural, construction, and landscaping equipment. With decades of expertise and a focus on delivering value to our customers, we are growing and looking for a dedicated Rental Fleet Manager to take our rental operations to the next level.Position Overview:We are currently seeking a skilled and dependable Service Technician to join our team in Portage la Prairie. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, inspecting, repairing, and maintaining agricultural equipment. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems, with a focus on safety, quality, and customer service.Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and inspect equipment for faults and malfunctions.
  • Perform mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic repairs.
  • Conduct equipment updates, pre-delivery, and pre-season inspections.
  • Complete detailed work orders and technician notes.
  • Operate machinery for testing and diagnostics.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Follow all OH amp;S safety standards.
  • Collaborate with the service team and report to the Service Manager.
Qualifications:
  • Journeyman certification preferred, but equivalent experience accepted.
  • Solid knowledge of agricultural equipment repair methods and tools.
  • Proficient in troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Experience using diagnostic software and systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Dependable, customer-focused, and team-oriented.
Physical Requirements:
  • Regular standing and frequent walking, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
  • Ability to lift and move parts up to 50 lbs consistently.
  • Must be able to work on your feet for the duration of the shift.
  • Occasional vehicle and heavy equipment operation.
  • Requires hand-eye coordination and good visual focus.
Work Environment:
  • Loud indoor environment with frequent exposure to machinery.
  • Occasional outdoor work and exposure to mechanical vibrations.
  • Possible exposure to high temperatures, fumes, and chemicals.
  • PPE required at all times.
