Job Description

Position: ElectricianLocation: 1 hour East of Ottawa, ONPay: $38-$41 per hourShift: Continental Rotating ShiftDuration: Full-Time Permanent + BenefitsOverview:

  • Inspect, repair, install, and wire all electrical and electronic apparatus, devices, and circuits, of any voltage in the plant or assigned area.
  • Electrical and electronic testing instruments, pipe threading machine, soldering equipment, pipe benders, miscellaneous hand tools, man lift device, forklift, CMMS, pendant crane, gamma and X-Ray counter, high voltage testing and grounding stick, truck, PC, PLC. Etc.
  • Working with various AC and DC motors, generators and drives, transformers, circuit breakers, rectifiers, electric controls, control panels, starters, switches, lighting equipment, power distribution and control circuits, conduit and fittings, wire and cable, hardware, insulation, solder, repair and replacement parts, camera, weighing system, temperature recorder and sensors, natural gas equipment and burners, welding machines, PLC actuators, PC, etc.
  • Interpret drawings, diagrams, and work orders for jobs. Select tools required.
  • Knowledge of proper isolation of circuits. Plan and perform work requiring a through working knowledge of electrical principles and codes, wire specification, the properties of various materials, the operation and application of equipment.
  • Troubleshooting any type of electrical equipment by tracing and testing circuits and inspecting for faulty operation.
  • Dismantle and assemble, inspect, repair and adjust or replace faulty parts and wiring on motors, generators, power distribution and control panels circuit breakers, rectifiers, electronic devices, etc.
  • Perform work on “hot” lines as required.
  • Replace coils, resistors, rheostats, relays, etc.
  • Use CMMS system.
