Job Description

Forbes Bros Ltd. is seeking a Level 2 or 3 Apprentice Shop Mechanic (full-time, permanent) to support our project in Prince Albert, SK. This position is primarily based out of the shop, however, there are occasions where it will have field work and require travel to work/project sites.Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Apprentice Shop Mechanic repairs and overhauls heavy vehicles and industrial equipment at our Prince Albert location shop.Forbes Bros Ltd. has a family-oriented culture that focuses on flexibility, communication, growthamp; respect in the workplace. Key Responsibilities:
  • Lives Forbes Bros. value of WE WORK SAFEamp; never compromising on safety in all aspects of our every day
  • Troubleshoot, maintain and repair mechanical and hydraulic systems and components on a variety of equipment including but not limited to tractor-trailer units and large commercial vehicles
  • Conduct regular preventative maintenance tasks and inspections
  • Assist with troubleshooting of electrical systems and components
  • Maintain service truck and keep stocked with tools and spare parts
  • Assist with the start-up and commissioning of new project sites
  • Responsible for maintaining the service truck log books
  • Responsible for creating and updating work orders within Viewpoint
  • Maintain shop tools and work area
  • Perform other tasks related to this function as assigned
What We Are Looking For:
  • Level 2 or 3 Apprentice as a Heavy Equipment Technician or Mechanic or, Heavy Equipment Technician- Heavy Duty Equipment Mechanic (Off Road) or Heavy Equipment Technician – Truck and Transport Mechanic, is required
  • Able and willing to travel to various project sites as required
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment leveraging excellence in time management
  • Strong written, oral communication skills and interpersonal skills with ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Physically fit and able to perform manual labor in varying weather conditions and environments, inclusive of heavy lifting
