This position will plan and coordinate programs with a recreational or sports nature and will manage employees, instructors and venues related to those programs. Specifically, the Recreation Coordinator will manage the Arena division, which includes existing facilities such as the Art Hauser Centre, Kinsmen Arena and the Dave Steuart Arena.In addition, the City of Prince Albert is in the detailed design phase of a new Aquatic and Arena Recreation Centre. This multi use Recreation facility will include twin arenas encompassing 77,159 square feet with more seating, larger ice surfaces and more dressing rooms compared to our existing facilities. • Supervise, schedule and manage the performance of employees carrying out programs.
• Manage, supervise and coordinate the scheduling of events and/or programs.
• Develop and implement programs in response to public needs and in keeping with innovations in the industry.
• Consult with community organizations and user groups to plan desired programs.
• Prepare grant applications and attend to follow up work relating to grant applications.
• Develop and recommend budget requirements for recreational and sports programs.
• Prepare marketing plans for various City recreational facilities and programs.
• Develop contracts for events and/or programs.

Required Qualifications:

• A four (4) year degree in recreation or related field.
• Two (2) years’ experience working with community groups in the development, coordination and evaluation of sport, culture and recreation programs.
• Arena Operator course is considered an asset
• Satisfactory Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search
• Class 5 drivers license
