Job Description

We are currently seeking two (2) seasonal Roller/Packer Operator for our Highways Division in Saskatchewan. This is for the 2021 construction season to start in May, weather dependent. The primary work will be in Prince Albert and Frenchman Butte area in Saskatchewan. Local candidates to the area is preferred.What is the roleReporting to the Highways Division Foreman, the Roller Operator is responsible to operate a rubber tire or steel wheel asphalt roller to roll the asphalt mat to the desired compaction, ensuring full passes and coverage, and monitor temperature and quality of the mat. Responsibilities will include:Safely operates roller machine to compress asphalt to maintain a smooth surface.Works closely with foreman and other crew members to assist in paving operations.Performs daily inspection and maintenance and ensures that roller is in safe, proper working order including fluid checks and proper lubrication.Monitor all gauges and warning lights.Follows all safety, compliance, and environmental requirements in alignment with company standards.Keeps equipment clean and prepares equipment for transport on flatbed when needed.QualificationsWhat do we valueIdeal candidates will have 1+ years of experience in Roller Operation and Asphalt work.Fundamental understanding of road construction materials and practices an asset.Experience working in highway road construction.Able to work rotational shift ; overtime and weekend work is required.Successful candidate must be able to meet pre-employment testing requirements.What do we offerCompetitive wageHealth/Dental benefitsCovid-19 Considerations:To keep our employees safe, we have implemented weekly COVID-19 questionnaires, social distancing requirements, and providing necessary PPE for employees.
