JOB POSTING #001-21/22-CONTSASKATCHEWAN RIVERS PUBLIC SCHOOL DIVISIONInvites applications for the position of:SRPSD–Prince Albert KidsFirst Community Childcare LiaisonSuccessful candidates for this position must possess the following:

  • Familiarity with licensed child care in the community in which they would work for
  • Familiarity with the needs of vulnerable families, including families involved in the programs such as KidsFirst
Targeted, Newcomer centres, family services agencies, or individuals who self-identify as requiring support
  • An understanding of early childhood development and the importance and value of early learning and child
care
  • Understanding of trauma-informed practice and how to translate these concepts into practical approaches for
child care providers
  • Skilled at creating relationships with:
  • Parents and caregivers
  • KidsFirst and ECIP programs
  • Licensed child care centres
  • Early Learning and Child Care Consultants
  • Prince Albert Early Years Family Resource Centre (PAEYFRC)
  • Report directly to Prince Albert Targeted Kids First Program Manager and KidsFirst Pre-K Liaison
  • Support provided through SRPSD Early Years Consultant and SRPSD Superintendent in charge of KidsFirst

  • Build relationships and conduct outreach with organizations who work with vulnerable families to identify
families who would benefit from transition to child care
  • Work directly with families who are clients of partner organizations to connect to licensed child care and
provide support to remove barriers to access. This may include providing assisted referrals, support to fill outenrolment forms, applying for child care subsidy, etc.
  • Create awareness amongst families and support organizations about the importance and value of early learning
and care and helping families to navigate supports
  • Collaborate with local Early Learning and Child Care Consultants to support access to licenses childcare
programs
  • Create and report on data collected directly connected to the programs provided and families supported
Outcomes:
  • Increased number of vulnerable families engaged with licensed child care
  • Better utilization of child care in the community
  • Strengthened relationships between licensed child care and the PAEYFRC
  • Strengthened relationship between organizations that provide support to families like KidsFirst Targeted,
Newcomer organizations, family services agencies, Indigenous organizations, and licensed child careSuccessful Candidate Qualifications may include:
  • ECE III Degree and 5+ years working in the field, or
  • 7+ years experience as a home visitor with a family focused, early childhood program, or
  • An undergraduate degree in social work or early childhood education and 5+ years of experience, or
  • A combination of similar training and experience
LENGTH OF POSITION:
  • Start Date: August 1, 2022
  • End Date: July 31, 2023
SALARY: $60,000.00 per yearHOURS OF WORK:
  • 7.5 hours per day – 5 days per week
