Job Description

With a strong reputation for quality, innovation, and integrity, we are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Accountant/Bookkeeper to join our team in Prince George, BC.If you #39;re a detail-driven professional who thrives in a fast-paced, multi-entity environment and enjoys a balance of structure and variety in your work, this opportunity could be a great fit.Responsibilities:

  • Manage the full accounting cycle for one or more of our corporate entities.
  • Prepare and process accounts receivable invoices (inter-company and third-party billings).
  • Monitor AR activity and investigate/reconcile discrepancies.
  • Reconcile supplier and inter-company accounts, and process payments.
  • Maintain and track fixed assets
  • Perform complete amortization and depreciation calculations, ensuring accurate asset values and compliance with accounting standards.
  • Complete bank and account reconciliations.
  • Review general ledger accounts and prepare journal entries and adjustments.
  • Ensure all inter-company balances are up to date and reconciled.
  • Prepare and file GST, PST, payroll, and other tax remittances accurately and on time.
  • Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, including financial reporting.
  • Prepare year-end working papers for internal review and coordinate with external accountants to ensure timely completion of annual financial statements.
  • Assist in forecasting and budgeting processes.
  • Contribute to ad-hoc financial analysis, reporting, and support for job estimating and project tracking.
  • Assist with general office administration and provide reception desk support as needed.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum 3 years of full-cycle bookkeeping/accounting experience.
  • Previous experience in construction, forestry, or industrial services is preferred.
  • Post-secondary accounting education; CPA, CGA, or CA designation is an asset but not required.
  • Strong working knowledge of Sage accounting software, Excel, and Office 365 systems.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating closely with team members across departments.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and capable of managing multiple priorities.
