Job Description

The Falcon Group of Companies operates a diverse portfolio of businesses including Falcon Contracting Ltd. (Civil Constructionamp; General Contracting), Falcon Camp Services Inc (Turn-key Campsamp; Catering) and Falcon Transload Inc. (Rail-to-truck Transloading). We seeking a highly experienced General Manager to join the team working out of our head office in Prince George, BC.Responsibilities:

  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the various businesses in the corporate group
  • Prepare estimates, budgets, proposals and bids for projects
  • Negotiate contracts, scope changes, and project related claims with clients
  • Negotiations contracts and agreements with subcontractors and suppliers
  • Manage project execution, schedule, manpower and budget
  • Obtains permits and licenses for various businesses and projects
  • Manage and maintain client relationships
  • Provide clear direction and instruction to office, yard, shop and project teams
  • Manages labour, equipment and materials on projects
  • Draft business letters, emails and project correspondence
  • Lead commitment to healthamp; safety excellence on all projects
  • Recruit and provide leadership for office, yard, shop and project personnel
  • Supervise and oversee work performed by company personnel
  • Schedule personnel and resolve personnel conflicts as they may arise
  • Inspect and review project progression and work
  • Review, monitor and provide approvals for A/R and A/P functions within the organization
  • Manage day-to-day oversight of tenants in the company-owned industrial park
  • Provide leadership to for the accounting, healthamp; safety, human resources, and other roles within the organization
Qualifications:
  • 5 to 10+ years managerial experience
  • Previous experience with a construction, forestry, or industrial organization
  • Familiar with construction terms, practices, scheduling, costs and budgets
  • Strong negotiation, organization, time management and coordination skills
  • Logical decision-making ability and the capacity to handle pressure
  • Strong written, verbal and electronic communication skills
  • Highly confident interacting with employees, subcontractors, suppliers and clients
  • Highly experienced user of Excel, Word, Acrobat, and Outlook
