This means working to consistently exceed the expectations of our guests in quality of service, facilities, and overall experience.A little bit about the job …The Fall Student & Crew Coordinator partners with the property staff team to train, mentor and develop young Christian leaders for RockRidge Canyon and extend to the YL mission.The Coordinator will support the various property departments by working alongside and encouraging the students & crew professionally; coordinate and lead their Spiritual development and plan and participate in community building events and activities.The program would include the following:Spiritual Development:Weekly Bible study as a whole group with study materials that will provide opportunities for solid spiritual growth.Morning devotions during the rental seasonProvide mentorship to train students & crew to excel in their studies and roles.Check in with individual students & crew regularly to encourage and stay informed as to progress in their spiritual lives.Community DevelopmentManaging interpersonal relationshipsAssisting with personal care (such as doctor’s appointments, emergency, drug store)Modeling living in community with selflessnessManaging a healthy and clean living space (including meal cleanup, lounge care)Personal Development:Meet with individuals regularly to provide direction and counseling the students & crew as they progress through the program.Monitor the sense of community within the group and provide guidance regarding interpersonal relationships, conflict resolution and stewardship.Social Development:Working with property staff to plan on and off site adventures & activities as they are able.Professional Development:Fulfill job responsibilities in a variety of departments while working alongside supervisors to monitor work ethic, productivity and quality of work.Work with Guest Services Manager on providing an Exit Interview to encourage further development or to refine objectives.Make recommendations regarding suitability as a future YL Staff member.Reports to:Guest Services ManagerA little bit about us …RockRidge Canyon is a Young Life of Canada property located in Princeton, BC, Canada. You LOVE working with people and are able to be flexible. Experience in Young Life is preferred. As a spiritual leader you will help mold and shape future leaders through your actions as you demonstrate what it means to be a servant leader all while enabling volunteers to grow in their faith and leadership abilities. While a large portion of your time will be spent in mentoring and development, you may be asked to help various departments not limited to hosting, housekeeping, food services and retail.Your background includes a high school diploma with the ability to read and write English proficiently. Guest service experience and work in a camp setting are strong assets. Knowledge of the not-for-profit sector and experience in a faith-based Christian organization are assets.Your exceptional oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills will enable you to thrive in this relational ministry environment, and to develop effective and trusting relationships throughout the organization. You are an effective leader and trainer of volunteers. Your ability to take instruction and work independently enables you to patiently manage conflicting priorities, effectively plan your work, and complete the myriad tasks required in this role, while keeping a clear head. You act with integrity and diplomacy. You have an eye for risk management and making clear decisions for the safety of all.The Fall Coordinator is a paid temporary property staff position. The role can be filled by an individual or a couple. An individual would work 40 hours per week or a couple would split the role & responsibilities, working 20 hours per week each with some weekends required.Room & Board is provided onsite in Wolfe Creek Lodge.All employees of RockRidge Canyon may have unsupervised access to children.
