Princeton is a community-oriented town with a diverse offering of activities,especially for those who love the outdoors. Princeton is also in close proximity to both the city ofVancouver and the Okanagan.SummaryReporting to Mill Operations General Foreman, the Mill Operations Supervisor is responsible for thesupervision, coordination, and effective scheduling of workers to meet production targets and qualitystandards. Responsibilities will include the training of staff in production methods, safety, policies, andprocedures, as well as the identification and correction of potential work problems and health and safetyissues. In the course of their duties, the Mill Operations Supervisor will prepare a range of reports.Through the effective management of targets, goals, and production efficiencies, the Supervisor, MillOperations will ensure the ongoing success of the Mill floor.This is a permanent full-time role on a 7x7 rotation, 12-hour shifts, both day shift, and night shift roster.Responsibilities

  • Ensures site compliance with mining regulations and follows Copper Mountain Mine site’s safety,
quality, and environmental standards in all aspects of work,
  • Follows Occupational Health and Safety, Mines Act, and Copper Mountain Mine’s standard operating
procedures (SOPs),
  • Supervises, coordinates, and schedules the activities of workers,
  • Identifies, investigates, corrects, and documents potential environmental and safety problems,
  • Establishes methods to meet work schedules and coordinates work activities with other departments,
  • Resolves work problems and recommends measures to improve productivity and product quality,
  • Provides information for production plans to ensure that production objectives are met,
  • Requisitions materials and supplies,
  • Trains staff in job duties, safety procedures and the Company’s policies and procedures,
  • Recommends personnel actions such as hirings and promotions,
  • Prepares production and other reports and develops and manages operating budget for area of
responsibility,
  • Supervises, coordinates, and schedules the activities of trades workers, labourers or other workers,
may be required,
  • Performs any other responsibilities related
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mining, Metallurgy, or a Diploma in a relevant field or equivalent combination of
education and relevant work experiences,
  • Current Mine Supervisor Certificate (if supervising 6 or fewer people),
  • Current Shiftboss Certificate (if supervising more than 6 people),
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of mill operations experience with at least three (3) years in a supervisory
role, coupled with a proven track record of successfully leading a team in a processing environment,
  • High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office productivity suite including experience with
computerized control room operating systems,
  • Possess a valid Class 5/7N British Columbia driver’s license and have access to personal
transportation.Required Skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, coupled with exceptional interpersonal skills,
  • Competent in filling out forms including transmittals, warehouse vouchers, timecards, expense forms
and investigation forms,
  • Proven leadership and team-building capabilities and the foresight to recognize and overcome any
potential challenges while effectively supervising the hourly staff and independent contractors,
  • Must work well in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and possess a strong work ethic,
  • Able to build and maintain lasting relationships with key business partners, and internal customers,
  • Must have the ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret the programs, goals,
objectives, policies, procedures, etc.,
  • Strong negotiation and prioritization skills,
  • Ability to attend and conduct presentations,
  • Required to meet pre-employment testing requirements.
Working Conditions
  • Occasional exposure to hazardous environments with the requirement of wearing protective
equipment,
  • Frequent exposure to uncomfortable conditions associated with the work environment such as noise
and working in dusty and wet environments,
  • Work requires heavy lifting, awkward positions, walking and standing,
  • Exceptional exposure to unfavourable working conditions associated with the work environment such
as confined spaces, ladders, and/or rooftops,
  • Work involves pushing, pulling, and moving equipment and/or supplies over 50 pounds,
  • Work includes manual dexterity to use desktop computers and peripheral devices,
  • Will be required to be clean-shaven.
Other Requirements
  • Successful completion of pre-employment screening requirements and drug & alcohol testing,
  • Provide proof of a valid Class 5/7N driver’s license,
  • Demonstrate eligibility to work in Canada,
  • Provide confirmation of valid educational requirements.
