Princeton is also in close proximity to both the city ofVancouver and the Okanagan.SummaryReporting to the Mine General Manager, the Mine Operations Manager is responsible for providingleadership to the Mine department to ensure the safe and efficient operation of a 175-200,000 tonne perday open pit. The position is responsible for all aspects of production and mine maintenance, and worksclosely with the Technical Services department to maximize efficiency and drive improvements. The MineOperations Manager is a key member of Copper Mountain Mine’s management team, workingcollaboratively to deliver overall business results.Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure strong safety performance and zero Lost-Time Injuries within the Mine department.
  • Provide leadership and oversight of the Mine Operations and Mine Maintenance teams, including
mentoring and supporting employee development.
  • Maintain a culture of respect, honesty, innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Plan, organize, direct, control, and evaluate daily and long-term operations in Mine Operations
and Mine Maintenance.
  • Prepare production and cost budgets and forecasts.
  • Deliver budget mine performance (safety, environment, tonnes, grade, and costs) and
maintenance performance (safety, environment, costs, and equipment availability).
  • Complete month-end reporting, results analysis, and identification of opportunities.
  • Communicate business performance and priorities to the team to ensure they are fully informed.
  • Actively drive continuous improvement.
  • Complete technical documentation for project analysis complete with economic justification.
  • Work closely with the management team to achieve the maximum business performance of the
operation and set the strategic direction for the operation.
  • Partner with the Technical Services department to ensure alignment on common goals.
  • Work closely with vendors and suppliers to maintain a high level of support, minimize costs, and
implement leading technologies to achieve efficiency improvements.Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mining or Mineral Engineering, Geological/Geophysical Engineering, or
Geotechnical, or other industry-related Engineering program.
  • Eligible for registration or registered with the Association of Professional Engineers and
Geoscientists of B.C. (EGBC) is preferred.
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of open pit operations experience, with demonstrated competence in
delivering safe, efficient production. Manager-level experience in this capacity is preferred.
  • Experience with managing mobile mining equipment maintenance is preferred.
  • Extensive experience in operations and capital upgrade projects.
  • Proven experience leading multi-disciplinary teams to execute operations and capital upgrade
projects.Required Skills

their full potential.
  • Proficient computer skills, with advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (PowerPoint,
Word, Excel) and the ability to learn new software.
  • Required to meet pre-employment testing requirements.
